Stephen Katz

Stephen joined the team at the Holborn office of David Rubin & Partners in 2009 prior to its acquisition by Begbies Traynor Group, having previously held the post of Head of Insolvency at HW Fisher.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1988, Stephen led HW Fisher’s business development and investigation team, specialising in business acquisitions, due diligence and pre-lending reviews. In the early 1990s he was instrumental in setting up a dedicated insolvency team for the firm. After qualifying as a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in April 1995, he went on to lead this team as Head of Insolvency.

Stephen brings considerable experience across a wide range of sectors and has acted in a number of cross-border insolvency cases, leading him to work as far afield as Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, the USA and the Bahamas.

Stephen is married with two children and has four dogs. He formerly practiced Karate at black belt level but now practices Tai Chi.
